GKV Racks Up Health Care Advertising Awards

GKV has a proven track record in the healthcare sector, and this year another round of advertising awards bolsters that success.

For Blue Shield of California, GKV created a challenger brand campaign based on a truthful brand promise: Blue Shield’s strong commitment to caring more about people than profit. The We are California campaign focused on the company’s values and how they match up to the values of California’s residents.

The campaign featured television, direct mail, print ads and newspaper inserts that also promoted the important health benefits provided in competitive Blue Shield Medicare Advantage plans.

The Campaign won several prestigious industry awards, including:

  • a Platinum Generations Award
  • a Silver SIAA (Service Industry Advertising Award)
  • a Silver Aster Award
  • a Bronze Healthcare Marketing Report (HMR) Award

2015 Accolades

GKV reached out during the health plan open enrollment period for CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield of Maryland with humor, irony and slightly subversive messaging. It was a refreshing dose of honesty and authenticity that connected with consumers in a way healthcare advertising rarely does.

GKV received 3 Gold Aster Awards for 2015 for CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. The awards recognize excellence in the “Epic Fails” video series, transit graffiti posters in the Outdoor Transit category, as well as the Open Enrollment Radio Campaign in the Radio category. Ads were placed in movie theatres, public transit lines, digital (in the form of video and display banners) and Pandora Internet Radio ads. See the Campaign.

In addition to the three Aster Awards, GKV also received a number of awards from the Thirty-Second Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards 2015 for a variety of healthcare clients. The CareFirst Open Enrollment Campaign received one Gold, one Silver and one Bronze award for TV, Radio and Outdoor.

GKV also received two Gold awards for work on BlueShield of California, one for Total Integrated Campaign for the “Age in Campaign” and one for their TV spot “We’re Not Done.” GKV also received a merit award for work done for client Elderplan in New York for the “Good People Campaign,” and a Silver award for client GOED for the “Trigger Moments” TV spot.
